September 18-21st, 2008: The AIDS Memorial Quilt will be on display at the UM Adams Center and will be the largest Montana display of the project. A dramatic unfolding of the AIDS Memorial quilt and reading of names will open this historic event at 5 p.m. September 18. MAS Volunteer Services’ RSVP and the Western Montana Volunteer Center (WMVC) have partnered with the Missoula AIDS Council to develop and coordinate the extensive volunteer recruitment and management program needed for an event of this magnitude. More than 200 volunteers will serve as quilt monitors; greeters; set-up and takedown staff; information table, sales and check-in staff; and those who take part in the unfolding ceremony and reading of names.
